It has been brought to my attention that American president Donald Trump has stated it would be “unlikely” for Ukraine to return to its internationally recognised borders in a possible peace between Ukraine and Russia.

It is indisputable that Trump’s decision was contradictory to America’s self-appointed role of the guardian of liberty. In addition to ignoring the sovereignty of Ukraine, this plan puts the Ukrainian people living in Russian-occupied zones in danger, as evidently illustrated by infrequent human rights violations and war crimes committed by Russia.

I can only express my utmost disappointment towards President Donald Trump of America. In solidarity with the Ukrainian people, we fully support the restoration of Ukraine’s internationally recognised borders. Only when Russia’s imperialistic actions cease can we achieve peace.
