The recent ruling by the British Supreme Court is disappointing, will have terrible consequences for trans women and is a step backwards in the fight for trans rights.
No nation should discriminate against its people, and should only be fighting to ensure that everyone is equal and can live their lives exactly how they want to.
My Government stands with all British-Hokorians and Hokorians in the United Kingdom who the ruling impacts, and we support calls for the matter to be taken to the European Court of Human Rights.
Our thoughts are also with the thousands of trans women in the United Kingdom.
