Court removes two MPs from their seats

Under the newly appointed Chief Judge, Rowan Mintz, the Court has ruled that Nyx Nightshade and Ellie Penhollow will be removed from their Parliamentary seats at 16:00 (UTC+1) on Saturday following a filing by the Koru.

Nightshade was removed on the grounds of abandonment of seat and duties, and failure to attend Parliament, rendering them unable to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a Member of Parliament.

Penhollow was removed on the grounds of having become ineligible to serve as a Member of Parliament following the renunciation of Hokorian citizenship, rendering them unable to fulfil the requirements of office.

As a result, the June 2026 by-election has been announced by the Koru’s Office. There will be three seats up for grabs due to the removals and the resignation of Plamen Iliev.
