Her Majesty the Kora of Hokoria, Vistaria and Lorc’h has shared a statement for the micronational community.
The Hokorian State believes in setting a good example within the micronational community. Where possible, we will offer our input and assistance on diplomatic, technical and other matters where we believe we can be of genuine benefit.
Recently, I have seen a number of nations and organisations giving attention to individuals within the micronational community who, to my understanding, have previously faced serious allegations concerning their conduct.
I believe we should be careful about giving additional attention or a platform to individuals about whom serious concerns have been raised, particularly where those concerns involve the safety or wellbeing of minors and other vulnerable members of the community.
Drama and micronations have unfortunately gone hand in hand for as long as I can remember. However, we should not allow that culture of drama to become an excuse for continually amplifying individuals or organisations simply because they seek attention or controversy.
The Hokorian State therefore encourages nations and organisations to exercise caution, consider the potential consequences of giving individuals additional publicity and, where appropriate, simply disengage.
We cannot control who others choose to associate with, but we can choose what we give our own attention to. I believe that is an important distinction and one that the micronational community should take seriously.
