Her Majesty the Kora, Willow of Hokoria has shared a statement regarding the rejected proposal earlier this week that could have seen Hokoria join Vistaria.
People of Hokoria, earlier this week I made a significant proposal to Parliament asking for a referendum on Hokoria’s future. I want to discuss this and I want to give you all more information about it and what it means for our nation.
Hokoria’s government is non-existent, and I have been left to pick up the slack. I have nothing against the incumbent PM and Parliament, but it’s disappointing to see the lack of participation beyond perhaps three of our elected officials.
This is frustrating. For me especially. Everyone has their reasons for not doing more, but it becomes a burden more than anything when seemingly people don’t want to be involved beyond saying yes or no to something they don’t fully care about.
The Kingdom of Vistaria is a separate project I founded last year. In all honesty, it was my intent for Hokoria to become a part of Vistaria if the governance situation did not improve. I had been in discussions with my dear friend and Governor of Serenia, Christopher Slant, about this.
It genuinely feels like Hokoria is on its deathbed. It has become expensive for me to run, in terms of money and time. We do not have enough committed people to run it. Vistaria solves that problem by bringing key duties including citizenship, foreign affairs, justice and more under the Koruship’s authority.
It does not mean that Hokoria just ceases either- or that we would lose our democratic functions and democratically elected Parliament. Under the proposal I made earlier, the Parliament and Government would remain until the next scheduled election at the end of November. My hope by this point is that we would have constitutions for Dama and Serenia as a part of the Kingdom of Vistaria.
I really do understand that people would be sad to see Hokoria cease to exist as we know it, but I ultimately believe this is the best option. There would be nothing stopping Hokoria from existing again in the future, should things improve enough.
For now, I invite the public to ask any questions you have. I encourage our MPs to do the same and engage with me on this.
