How the Assembly works
The Hokorian Assembly is made up of two councils- the Legislative Council and the Constitutional Council. The Assembly itself is overseen by the Koru, but each of the Councils has a different structure and purpose.
The Legislative Council
The Legislative Council is the Hokorian Assembly’s representative council and legislature. It’s made up of the Koru, a Speaker and Legislative Councillors.
The purpose of the Legislative Council is for elected officials to vote on legislation, hold the Government to account and ensure that all Hokorians are represented.
The Constitutional Council
The Constitutional Council is the Koru’s own council. It’s made up of the Koru and Constitutional Councillors that are appointed by the Koru.
The purpose of the Constitutional Council is to hold the Koru to account, serve as a regency council if the Crown is vacant and vote on constitutional amendments that have been passed by the Legislative Council.
