The Foreign Office is open to establishing diplomatic relations with foreign nations, provided that they meet the following requirements:

  • That the nation is defined as a state under the 1933 Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States (that it has a permanent population; a defined territory; government; and capacity to enter into relations with the other states),
  • That the Foreign Office is able to find evidence of the nation’s existence from six months prior,
  • That the nation adheres to our principles.

Advice for foreign ministries and leaders

We encourage all nations that wish to establish diplomatic relations with the Hokorian State to formally recognise us. Generally, this does not require a treaty or agreement.

Letters regarding recognition can be sent to the Koru by email at ‘enquiries@hokoriagov.net’. Recognition is usually returned.
