Parties in civil proceedings may appeal a judgement if they believe an error was made.

When to appeal

Appeals must normally be filed within one month of the judgement.

Appeal process

The appeal should explain:

  • The original decision being challenged
  • Why you believe the decision was incorrect
  • What outcome you are asking the Court to consider

The appeal will normally be heard by the Chief Judge unless they presided over the original case.

Possible outcomes

The Court may uphold, overturn or modify the judgement, or order a new hearing.
