Under Hokorian law, it is possible for people to register marriages that took place abroad.
Eligibility
The Home Office will recognise marriages that took place abroad where:
- It was valid under the law of the place where it was celebrated,
- Both parties were aged 18 years or over at the time of marriage,
- The marriage is monogamous,
- The parties are not closely related (birth, adoption or step relationship).
You must have a valid certificate of marriage, or other official document issued by an authority in order to prove that the marriage took place.
Marriages are recognised at the discretion of the Home Office and at the advice of the Foreign Office.
Certificates of registration
Upon successfully registering a marriage, the Home Office issues a certificate of registration. This certificate is your official proof of marriage within the Hokorian State.
Certificates of registration may issued in the Hokorian State may not be accepted by most nations.
Your original foreign certificate of marriage, or other official document issued by an authority in order to prove that the marriage took place, may not be accepted within the Hokorian State.
Fees
The process to register a foreign marriage is free. This includes issuing a certificate of registration.
It costs €2 to get a replacement or additional copies of a certificate of registration.
