I wholeheartedly welcome the news that the International Criminal Court has issued the arrest warrants for two Israeli officials (Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant) and a Hamas official (Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri).
Following the events of the 7th October 2023, two Hamas officials that the ICC was also seeking an arrest warrant for have since been killed by Israel in it’s war on Hamas. We’re pleased to see that one other is now subject to an arrest warrant.
However, we’re equally pleased to see that the ICC is recognising that it is not just Hamas being targeted in Israel’s war, and that it is in fact plausible that crimes against humanity and war crimes have been committed against Palestinian civilians.
Every government, leader and person is subject to the law. I urge all nations across the world to comply with these arrest warrants. Benjamin Netanyahu, Yoav Gallant and Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri must not be immune to justice.
