Public holidays are set and observed by the Government. Hokorians are also encouraged to celebrate Hokorian public holidays.
The public holidays
- 1st January – New Year’s Day
- 21st March – Koru Day
- 1st May – Labor Day
- 11th May – Governor’s Day (Hokorian Serenia only)
- 1st November – Hokoria Day
Religious and personal celebrations
The Government does not restrict religious celebrations and allows all Government staff and officials to take time off to participate in any celebrations or other religious observations. Government staff and officials may also take time off for personal celebrations, such as birthdays.
What to expect
On public holidays, the Government and some Government services may be unavailable except for matters requiring urgent attention. There may be delays for up to 48 hours after a public holiday.
If you know that you need to use a Government service, ensure that you use it before any public holidays to avoid delay. Hokorian representations may also be unavailable during Hokorian public holidays.
