If you were a party to a criminal case and believe the Court made an incorrect decision, you may file an appeal.

Time limit

Appeals must normally be filed within one month of sentencing or judgement.

Who hears the appeal

Appeals are normally heard by the Chief Judge.

If the Chief Judge handled the original hearing, the appeal will be heard by another Judge or by the Koru.

What the Court may decide

After hearing an appeal, the Court may:

  • Uphold the original ruling
  • Overturn the ruling
  • Modify the ruling
  • Order a new hearing
